Andreas Stuhlmüller Cofounder & President
Before starting Ought, Andreas was a postdoctoral researcher in Noah Goodman's Computational Cognitive Science lab at Stanford. He co-created WebPPL, a programming language for probabilistic machine learning. He holds a Ph.D. in Cognitive Science from MIT, where he worked in Josh Tenenbaum's group.
Jungwon Byun Cofounder & COO
Prior to Ought, Jungwon was the Head of Growth at Upstart, where she helped the company scale 5x in revenue and originations. Before Upstart, Jungwon was a management consultant at Oliver Wyman and the Executive Director / CEO of Elmseed Enterprise Fund. She graduated cum laude from Yale, and holds a B.A. in economics.
Ben Rachbach Experimenter
Ben was a software engineer at Wonder Workshop prior to joining Ought. Before that, he was a research analyst at GiveWell. He received a B.A. in Chinese and education studies from Swarthmore College.
Amanda Ngo Business Operations Analyst
Amanda recently completed a B.S. in Economics and a B.A. in International Studies in the Huntsman Program at the University of Pennsylvania, where she worked on behavioral science research with Dr. Angela Duckworth. Amanda previously interned at Upstart as a Growth Analyst.
Owain Evans Researcher
Prior to Ought, Owain was a postdoc at the University of Oxford where he worked on AI Safety and Reinforcement Learning at the Future of Humanity Institute. He holds a Ph.D. from MIT, where he worked on cognitive science, probabilistic programming, and philosophy of science.
Eli Lifland Software Engineering Intern
Eli recently completed a B.S. in Computer Science and a B.A. in Economics at the University of Virginia, where he researched the adversarial robustness of NLP models. He previously interned as a Software Engineer at Facebook.

Zachary Miller Web Developer
Zak is a software engineer who previously worked at a live video startup in Boulder and as a professor in the Philosophy Department at the University of Oklahoma. He holds a PhD from Rutgers, where he specialized in philosophy of language and natural language semantics.
Paul is a researcher at OpenAI, where he works on AI Alignment. He holds a Ph.D. from the theory of computing group at UC Berkeley, where he was advised by Umesh Vazirani.
Noah Goodman Advisor
Noah is an Associate Professor of Psychology, Computer Science, and Linguistics at Stanford University, where he runs the Computation and Cognition Lab. He studies the computational basis of natural and artificial intelligence, merging behavioral experiments with formal methods from statistics and programming languages.
